Customs brake from the Ministry on these products: They will no longer be able to enter Turkey
The Ministry of Trade has taken measures against harmful products that threaten human health following inspections and laboratory analyses. The Ministry has restricted the entry of three product groups into Turkey via mail and express cargo.

The General Directorate of Product Safety and Inspection and the General Directorate of Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance, both under the Ministry of Trade, conducted comprehensive inspections and laboratory tests on various product groups offered for sale on certain e-commerce sites. The analyses determined that 148 out of the 182 products examined did not comply with safety standards and were in violation of regulations. In this context, the non-compliance rate reached 81 percent.
During the inspections, chemicals harmful to human health, such as phthalates, lead, cadmium, and PAHs, were found in footwear, toys, and leather goods (bags and suitcases made of real or artificial leather) at levels far exceeding the limits specified in the legislation.
Following these findings, the Ministry of Trade introduced a new regulation to ensure both public and individual health safety. Accordingly, the importation of footwear, toys, and leather goods identified as carrying high risk into Turkey via mail or express cargo under the "simplified customs declaration" has now been restricted.
The new regulation officially entered into force with Circular No. 2025/11 dated October 20, 2025.
