The amounts regarding irregularity penalties applied to those acting in violation of the Customs Law and related legislation, as well as overtime fees, have been increased by the revaluation rate determined as 58.46 percent.
The Customs General Communiqué prepared by the Ministry of Trade has been published in the Official Gazette.
With the communiqué, certain amounts contained in the Customs Law and the relevant regulation have been updated by the revaluation rate determined as 58.46 percent. Accordingly, the irregularity penalties specified in the Law and the Customs Regulation will be 828 liras as of January 1, 2024.
Overtime fees at customs have been set at 77.12 liras for exports and 180.12 liras for other transactions; for Turkish-plated trucks, the overtime fee per truck has been set at 180.12 liras for exports and 283.10 liras for other transactions.
Monetary limits for customs and foreign trade regional directorates, as well as the Ministry's customs duty refund or waiver procedures, have also been increased.
The communiqué will enter into force on January 1, 2024.
