İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport set a new daily passenger record amid increased demand during the summer holiday period. The airport served 165 thousand 814 passengers on July 5.

After setting a record with 165 thousand 473 passengers on June 28 following the closure of schools, the airport surpassed that level a week later, reaching the highest daily passenger count in its history.

According to a statement posted on the airport’s social media account, a total of 907 flights were operated that same day, 887 of them civil commercial flights. The number of flights on international routes, including arrivals and departures, was announced as 499.

The statement also said that 46 thousand 842 international arriving passengers used the airport. In the post, thanks were extended to the employees, business partners and passengers who contributed to the record.
