Following the recent price hikes on cigarettes, it has been learned that there will also be a price increase for rakı.

Özgür Aybaş, President of the Turkey Monopoly Dealers Platform, announced the expected rakı price hike on his social media account.

Aybaş stated that they expect a 17 percent price increase for rakı to take effect on April 26.

Aybaş noted the following in his post:

"Are we ready for the rakı price hike? A 17 percent increase is expected to take effect on Friday."


"COST-BASED HIKE"

Erol Dündar, President of the Monopoly Dealers Solidarity Association, also stated in a post on his social media account that a cost-based price hike would be applied to rakı prices. 

In his post, Dündar included the statement, "A cost-based price hike for rakı is expected in the coming days. Between 10 and 20 percent."
