Drop in Brent crude oil price per barrel (February 28, 2024)

The price of a barrel of Brent crude, which rose to $82.75 yesterday, closed the day at $82.66.

As of 09:15 today, the price of a barrel of Brent crude decreased by 0.36 percent compared to the closing price, reaching $82.36. At the same time, a barrel of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was finding buyers at $78.56.

The decline in prices was driven by the forecast of an increase in commercial crude oil inventories in the U.S., the world's largest oil consumer, which strengthened the perception that demand in the country remains weak.
