Economists' August inflation forecast revealed

The results of the AA Finans August Inflation Expectation Survey have been finalized. The 11 economists participating in the survey estimate that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 2.64 percent in August.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), which often sparks public debate with the data it releases, will share inflation figures on Tuesday, September 3.

Ahead of the inflation figures to be announced by TÜİK, the AA Finans August Inflation Expectation Survey was concluded with the participation of 11 economists.

Accordingly, the average of the economists' inflation expectations for August was 2.64 percent. The inflation expectations of the economists participating in the survey for August ranged from a low of 2.21 percent to a high of 3.10 percent.

Based on the average of the economists' inflation expectations for August, it is projected that the annual inflation rate, which was 61.78 percent in the previous month, will fall to 52.20 percent.

On the other hand, the economists' year-end inflation expectation for 2024 was 42.84 percent in August.

The Consumer Price Index had recorded an increase of 3.23 percent in July.
