EMRA postpones advance payments for certain distribution license-holding companies in the earthquake zone

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) has decided to postpone advance payments for certain distribution license-holding companies and to not apply default interest to market operators and participants during this period.

The board decision by EMRA regarding the matter has been published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, it has been decided that until March 31, for legal entities holding distribution licenses, authorized supply companies, and supply companies in which Organized Industrial Zones (OIZ) are direct or indirect partners operating in cities where a state of emergency was declared or that were designated as disaster zones, the amounts included in the advance payment notifications specified in the first paragraph of Article 132/Ç of the Electricity Market Balancing and Settlement Regulation shall be postponed until the final payment date of the invoice for the relevant billing period, and that no default interest shall be applied to the market operator and market participant during the aforementioned period.

The board decision in question will enter into force on January 1.
