European Central Bank cuts interest rates again

The European Central Bank has made a new cut to interest rates, lowering the deposit rate from 2.25 percent to 2 percent. The main refinancing rate was reduced from 2.40 percent to 2.15 percent. The marginal lending facility rate was also lowered from 2.65 percent to 2.40 percent.

Analysts participating in a survey conducted by Bloomberg had also anticipated this quarter-point cut.
