Eurozone announces growth figures for the last quarter of last year

The European Statistical Office has updated its preliminary data regarding the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone for the fourth quarter of 2023. Accordingly, the Eurozone showed no growth in the last quarter of last year compared to the previous quarter.

The European Statistical Office has updated its preliminary data regarding the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the European Union (EU) and the Eurozone for the fourth quarter of 2023. Accordingly, seasonally adjusted GDP in the Eurozone showed no growth in the last quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter.

DATA REMAINS CONSISTENT

In the Eurozone, GDP increased by 0.1 percent in the last quarter of last year compared to the same period of the previous year. Thus, the latest data remained consistent with the preliminary data released in February.

In the EU, seasonally adjusted GDP also remained unchanged in the last quarter of last year compared to the previous quarter, while it showed an increase of 0.2 percent on an annual basis. On the other hand, in the third quarter of 2023, the Eurozone economy had contracted by 0.1 percent compared to the previous quarter, while the EU economy had remained stagnant.
