The rise in oil prices and volatility in foreign exchange rates have brought the expectation of a new hike in fuel prices to the agenda. According to information provided by industry sources, a price increase of 6 lira and 62 kuruş per liter of diesel is expected on Tuesday.
The fact that the price of Brent crude oil approached 110 dollars last week, reaching its highest level in the last three months, has increased expectations regarding pump prices. It is stated that the rising tension in the Middle East is also effective in the volatility of oil prices.
Journalist Olcay Aydilek drew attention to the expected hike for diesel in a post on his social media account. In his post, Aydilek stated that the uncertainty regarding whether an SCT (Special Consumption Tax) adjustment will be made after the hike and how the increase will be reflected in pump sales prices could be clarified on Monday at 16:00.
