With the announcement of inflation figures, the raise rate for civil servants and civil servant retirees became 49.25 percent, while this rate remained at 37.57 percent for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees.
Due to the 15 percent collective bargaining agreement and inflation difference, an 11-12 percentage point gap emerged between SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees and civil servant retirees.
While millions of SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees are waiting with curiosity to see what the lowest pension will be, it has been claimed that formulas such as welfare shares, flat-rate raises, and gradual raises are on the agenda for Bağ-Kur members.
According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Sabah, technical and budgetary work for the additional pension hike and the lowest pension amount is ongoing. The AKP government plans to bring the study to the cabinet meeting by evaluating all economic indicators together, such as budget discipline and the relationship between wage increases and inflation.
WHEN IS THE CABINET MEETING?
The report stated that welfare shares, flat-rate raises, and gradual raise formulas for base pension salaries will be discussed at the first Cabinet Meeting of 2024. The Cabinet Meeting is expected to take place within the coming week.
HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST PENSION BE?
A parliamentary regulation is required for the lowest pension increase. A legislative proposal will be submitted to Parliament after it is prepared. Figures of 11,000-11,500 TL are on the table for the lowest pension.
WHEN WILL THE ADDITIONAL PENSION HIKE BE?
A legal change is required for any raise to be applied to pensions outside of inflation data. The legal change to be made is expected to be referred to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) after January 16. In this context, it is anticipated that the raise rate will be clarified within January, and if pensions are paid out beforehand, the difference will be transferred to accounts later.
