Facebook and Instagram accounts to be linked to Amazon
Meta Platforms (META) has launched a new feature that will allow users to link their Facebook and Instagram accounts to Amazon (AMZN), enabling them to purchase products directly from advertisements on social media apps.

An Amazon spokesperson stated, "Customers will be able to shop Amazon’s Facebook and Instagram ads and check out with Amazon without leaving the social media apps. Customers in the U.S. will see real-time pricing, Prime eligibility, delivery estimates, and product details on select Amazon product ads in Facebook and Instagram."
The new feature is expected to boost advertising revenue for Meta, which took a major hit in recent years after Apple’s (AAPL) 2021 iOS privacy changes impacted targeted advertising.
Maurice Rahmey, co-CEO of digital marketing firm Disruptive Digital and a former Facebook employee, said the new feature would improve targeted advertising and could be "a massive revenue opportunity for Meta, Amazon, and advertisers."
