Fatih Karahan to present at the Turkish Parliament: Agenda includes inflation and interest rates

Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) Governor Fatih Karahan will deliver a presentation to members of parliament at the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee on October 6.

The committee is scheduled to convene under the chairmanship of AK Party Samsun Deputy and Committee Chair Mehmet Muş. During the meeting, Karahan is expected to provide comprehensive assessments regarding the global economic outlook, developments in the Turkish economy, inflation, and the monetary policy framework.

It is anticipated that topics concerning the TCMB's interest rate decisions and policies pursued within the scope of the fight against inflation will be at the forefront of the presentation. Members of parliament are also expected to pose questions regarding monetary policy practices and the economic outlook.

In accordance with the Law on the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, the TCMB Governor is obligated to inform the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee about the Bank's activities and monetary policy practices.
