First a discount, then a price hike for diesel

The discount on diesel prices that took place overnight was soon overshadowed by a record price hike.

While a discount of approximately 5 lira and 47 kuruş was applied to the liter price of diesel last night, a major price increase will come into effect starting Saturday. In this context, a new hike of 6 lira and 23 kuruş will be applied to the liter price of diesel.

Due to the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, global oil shipments have been disrupted following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, causing oil prices to show a significant increase. Furthermore, volatility in energy markets continues following the statement by former US President Donald Trump that he had delayed military operations by 10 days.

The quota allocated for diesel in the sliding scale system (eşel mobil) applied to fuel prices in Turkey has also been filled. Following these developments, the discount applied to diesel will be valid for only one day and will be immediately followed by a significant price hike.

As of March 27, the current fuel prices valid in various cities of Turkey are as follows:

Istanbul European Side: Gasoline: 62.52 TL/liter Diesel: 68.63 TL/liter LPG: 30.49 TL/liter

Istanbul Anatolian Side: Gasoline: 62.38 TL/liter Diesel: 68.49 TL/liter LPG: 29.89 TL/liter

Ankara: Gasoline: 63.49 TL/liter Diesel: 69.76 TL/liter LPG: 30.37 TL/liter

Izmir: Gasoline: 63.76 TL/liter Diesel: 70.03 TL/liter LPG: 30.29 TL/liter

Following these developments, which are of particular interest to diesel users, the volatile process in fuel prices continues, and drivers are closely monitoring the new price adjustments.
