According to Morgan Stanley Chief US Economist Ellen Zentner, the Fed is on track to cut interest rates in June.

Speaking to Bloomberg TV, Zentner said, "For the Fed to cut rates as early as May, it would be more about inflation. I think the bar is very high for them to cut that early. However, I still expect them to be ready by June."

"WE EXPECT THE CUTS TO ACCELERATE"

Connecting to Bloomberg TV from the European House-Ambrosetti meeting held in Cernobbio, Italy, Zentner stated that she believes the market's expectation of approximately three cuts this year is "consistent with the Fed's view."

Zentner added, "We expect four cuts. We expect them to accelerate the cuts in the fourth quarter of the year because, at that point, inflation is falling faster than the Fed. I don't think the timing of when global central banks will cut rates will really be an issue."
