Foreign trade deficit reached 6.5 billion dollars in May
In May, exports increased by 2.7 percent to 24.8 billion dollars, while imports rose by 2.1 percent to 31.3 billion dollars. The foreign trade deficit was recorded at 6.5 billion dollars.

Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat announced the foreign trade data for May. According to the data, exports in May increased by 2.7 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 24.8 billion dollars.
During the same period, imports showed a 2.1 percent increase, reaching 31.3 billion dollars. As a result of these developments, the foreign trade deficit for May was determined to be 6.5 billion dollars, a figure that represents a 0.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
In the January-May period, exports rose by 3.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 110.9 billion dollars. Minister Bolat stated that as of May, annualized goods exports have reached 265.5 billion dollars, the highest level in the history of the Republic.
