As tensions between the US and Iran continue to impact energy markets, expectations for a new rise in fuel prices have emerged. The drop in oil prices last week, driven by strengthening hopes for a diplomatic solution between the parties, had been reflected at the pump as a price cut. However, this period was short-lived.
Tensions in the markets rose again following harsh statements made by US President Donald Trump regarding Iran. Following the upward movement in oil prices, expectations of a price hike in the fuel sector have come to the fore.
Journalist Olcay Aydilek stated in a post on his social media account, "A hike in diesel is on the horizon. 1 TL 10 kuruş at midnight tonight."
Accordingly, a price hike for diesel is expected as of tonight.
