Following the decline of Brent crude oil prices in global markets from 74 dollars to 60 dollars, a series of price cuts were applied to fuel in Turkey.
The reductions, first seen in diesel prices, began on April 8 with a drop of 2 lira and 64 kurus. Gasoline users were pleased on April 10 with a reduction of 2 lira and 24 kurus per liter. The following day, gasoline prices fell by another 1 lira and 35 kurus, providing a total reduction of 3 lira and 59 kurus.
However, this downward trend did not last long.
As reported by Sözcü, as of Saturday, April 12, 2025, a price hike of 82 kurus was applied to gasoline. This caused prices to rise again before drivers had a chance to enjoy the discounts.
