Fuel price hike: New rates announced

Fuel prices, which soared following tax increases during the summer months, continue their uninterrupted rise that has lasted for months.

Following statements from officials confirming that both diesel and gasoline prices were raised recently, industry sources indicated that a new increase in diesel prices will take effect as of Monday.

SCT HIKE WAS APPLIED IN JANUARY

With the start of January, a 2 TL Special Consumption Tax (SCT) hike was added to fuel prices. Following this increase, the most recent adjustment to fuel prices included both gasoline and diesel. News of a new increase for diesel was shared for Monday.

It has been learned that as of February 12, the price of diesel per liter will be increased by 1 lira and 40 kurus. The changes in the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil and the rise in the dollar exchange rate were cited as the reasons for the upcoming increase.
