Özgür Özel shared a video on his social media account regarding the ongoing debates over investment funds. Özel captioned his post, "Where the money is, the account is there."

In the video, it was alleged that the values of certain funds were inflated in a way that did not correspond to economic reality, and that small investors suffered significant losses at the end of the process. The narrative, which began with the question, "How were the stones laid for the robbery of the century?", cited the TLY free fund as an example of one of the 131 liquidated funds.

According to the information in the shared video, the TLY fund, established by Tera on March 11, 2021, was initially closed to the public and only 12 investors could trade. It was stated that the fund appreciated 863-fold over four years, that the Capital Markets Board (SPK) authorized it to go public on August 7, 2025, and that it was offered to investors on August 12.

The video argued that after the fund went public, the rise attracted new investors, and prices increased further with new inflows. During this process, the phrase "the small investor's savings were now inside the mechanism" was used.

The narrative also referenced the statement made by Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek on November 4, 2025, regarding the knowledge that manipulation was being carried out through certain funds. It was alleged that although the Financial Stability Committee, chaired by Şimşek, recommended regulations to the SPK, small investors continued to flock to the inflated funds for months.

The video also stated that the international financial company MSCI issued a warning to Turkey on June 23, 2026. It was claimed that the TLY fund had risen by approximately 980 percent since the date it went public, and had grown by approximately 267 percent after Şimşek's statement.

The post alleged that the "800 billion lira mechanism" collapsed on top of small investors on September 16, 2026. The video also claimed that AK Party member Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya had purchased one of the shares in question in April and exited with a high profit.

In the video shared by Özel, it was argued that the number of victimized investors exceeded 455 thousand, and that more than 2 million citizens, including their families, were affected by this process. At the end of the video, it was stated, "For those waiting to get their money back, the address is clear: Where the money is, the account is there."
