2025 civil servant and retiree salary increases: Here are the new salaries

One final piece of data is awaited for the salary increase of civil servants and retired civil servants. With the announcement of the December inflation rate, the 6-month inflation difference will be clarified. While the collective bargaining increase for civil servants in July was set at 10%, this rate will be applied as 6% in January. This situation will allow for the readjustment of civil servant salaries.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) will announce the December inflation rate on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM. With this data, the 6-month inflation difference will be clarified, and the new salaries of millions of civil servants and retirees will be finalized.

5-month inflation: 14.57%

SSK, Bağ-Kur retiree raise: 14.57%

Civil servant inflation difference: 4.15%

Civil servant collective bargaining raise: 6%

Civil servant raise: 10.40%

MARKET PARTICIPANTS' INFLATION FORECAST

According to the Central Bank's December Survey of Market Participants, inflation is projected to be 1.72% this month. According to the news in Ekonomim, in line with this forecast, the raise rates for retiree salaries and civil servant salaries are expected to be as follows:

- 6-month inflation: 16.54%

- SSK, Bağ-Kur retiree raise: 16.54%

- Civil servant inflation difference: 5.95%

- Civil servant collective bargaining raise: 6%

- Civil servant raise: 12.31%

LOWEST CIVIL SERVANT SALARY

In line with the 6-month inflation expectations, the lowest civil servant salary will exceed 34 thousand TL. The base pension for retired civil servants is expected to approach 20 thousand TL.

- Lowest retired civil servant salary - 17,586 TL - 19,837 TL - 19,926 TL

- Lowest civil servant salary - 39,205 TL – 43,283 TL - 44,031 TL

- Single civil servant salary - 36,236 – 40,004 TL - 40,696 TL

Retired civil servants will receive an increase 4-5 points lower than SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees in the January 2025 raise period. However, applying an equal raise rate with other retirees is also being discussed. In this case, the lowest retired civil servant salary could rise to 20,494 TL.
