2025 salary increases for civil servant, worker, and tradesman retirees: How much will it be?

The raise rate that civil servants and retirees will receive in the new year will be finalized with the consumer inflation for December, which the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) will announce on Friday, January 3, 2025.
TURKSTAT calculated consumer inflation at 14.57 percent for the 5-month period covering July to November of this year.
December inflation is expected to be in the 2-3 percent range. In this case, the CPI for the second 6-month period will be between 16.86 percent and 17.44 percent, and salary increases will be calculated based on this rate.
2500 LIRA RAISE FOR CIVIL SERVANT RETIREES
As is known, the raise for civil servants and civil servant retirees consists of the collective bargaining agreement raise and the inflation adjustment. If December inflation comes in at 2 percent, the 6-month inflation will be 16.86 percent. In this case, in January, civil servants and their retirees will receive a raise of only 12.61 percent, including the 6 percent raise and the inflation adjustment.
If the December raise comes in at 2.5 percent, the raise rate will be 13.17 percent; if it is 3 percent, the raise will be 13.72 percent. In this case, the pension of the lowest-paid civil servant retiree, which is 17 thousand 587 liras, will remain around 19 thousand 900 liras. A civil servant retiree receiving a 20 thousand lira pension will also receive a raise of at most around 2,500-2,600 TL in the new year.
HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST PENSION BE?
Worker, tradesman, and farmer retirees receive a raise equal to the inflation that occurs every 6 months. If December inflation occurs at around 2-2.5 percent, the 6-month inflation will be at the 16.86-17.44 percent level, and this entire rate will be reflected in the pensions as a raise.
In this case, for example, the pension of a worker retiree receiving 13 thousand liras will remain around 15,192-15,341 TL in the new year.
For a raise to be applied to the 12 thousand 500 lira lowest pension, a law must be passed.
A raise of at most around 1,500-2,000 TL is expected for the lowest pension as well.
RATES FOR RETIREE RAISES REMAINED BELOW 20 PERCENT
According to the report by Erdoğan Süzer from Sözcü, salary increases of around 12-13 percent will be given to civil servants and civil servant retirees, and around 16-17 percent to worker, tradesman, and farmer retirees in the new year.
It is also being discussed that the raise to be applied to the 12 thousand 500 lira pension will remain between 1,500 and 2,000 liras.
