A new era in urban transformation: The 'Half From Us' campaign in 5 questions
Support amounts have been increased for the 'Half From Us' (Yarısı Bizden) campaign, which aims to accelerate urban transformation efforts in Istanbul. The grants and loan opportunities provided for the transformation of homes and workplaces are considered an important step toward a safer Istanbul.

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that the support amounts for the 'Half From Us' campaign have been increased.
Launched in 2023 under the coordination of the Urban Transformation Presidency affiliated with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the 'Half From Us' campaign covers all districts of Istanbul and provides support payments including grants, loans, and relocation assistance to citizens who wish to transform their homes.
HOW MUCH IS THE SUPPORT AMOUNT IN THE CAMPAIGN?
For residential units, the grant, which was previously 700 thousand TL, has been increased to 875 thousand TL; the loan support, also previously 700 thousand TL, has been increased to 875 thousand TL; and the relocation assistance, which was 100 thousand TL, has been increased to 125 thousand TL. Thus, the total support amount for a home has risen to 1 million 875 thousand TL.
HOW MUCH SUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED FOR WORKPLACES?
For workplaces, the grant, which was 350 thousand TL, has been increased to 437 thousand 500 TL, and the loan support, which was 350 thousand TL, has also been increased to 437 thousand 500 TL. Relocation assistance has been updated to 125 thousand TL. Thus, the total support amount offered for the transformation of a workplace has become 1 million TL. Additionally, a loan opportunity of 875 thousand TL will be provided for each of the other shops owned by the rights holders.
HOW WILL THE SYSTEM WORK IN TOKİ AND EMLAK KONUT PROJECTS?
For large-scale area-based transformations, the Urban Transformation Presidency, TOKİ, and Emlak Konut are collaborating. Citizens can benefit from the 875 thousand TL grant support in these transformation projects.
TOKİ or Emlak Konut undertakes the construction process, and the grant is deducted from the building cost. The remaining amount is then paid in installments with long-term, favorable payment conditions.
HOW WILL THE LOANS BE REPAID?
Loan repayments begin 2 years after the building permit is obtained. For loans with a maturity of up to 10 years, the first year is interest-free, and subsequent repayments will be updated at half the rate of the CPI (TÜFE). In this way, citizens are also provided relief regarding payments during the urban transformation process.
HOW MANY HOMES HAVE BENEFITED FROM THE CAMPAIGN SO FAR?
Across Istanbul, the construction of 21 thousand homes and workplaces is ongoing as part of the campaign. Furthermore, the project process is continuing for 41 thousand residential units. In addition to the campaign, the ministry is conducting urban transformation in 365 different areas across Istanbul's 39 districts.
Since 2012, the transformation of 923 thousand independent units has been completed in the city, and the process is ongoing for 208 thousand 915 independent units.
