Following retirement pensions in Turkey remaining significantly below expectations and needs, all eyes have turned to retiree holiday bonuses.
This figure will be clarified after the Cabinet Meeting to be held under the chairmanship of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Millions of retirees have their eyes and ears turned to the holiday bonus. The current bonus of 3,000 liras is expected to rise to 4,000 liras with a 33 percent increase.
WHEN WILL HOLIDAY BONUSES BE PAID?
Retirees are given bonuses every year for the Ramadan and Eid al-Adha holidays. This year, holiday bonuses will be paid in March and June as well.
If a decision on the raise rate is reached in the new week, the regulation is expected to be sent to the Speaker of the Parliament.
Approximately 16 million retirees will benefit from the regulation.
Those who become eligible for retirement as of March 1 will also be able to receive the holiday bonus.
In addition to the increase to be made in holiday bonuses, economic issues such as the fight against exorbitant prices during the month of Ramadan and the course of inflation will also come to the fore at the Cabinet Meeting.
The 10th judicial package, which is being drafted by the Ministry of Justice, is also expected to be discussed at the meeting.
