An interim raise for retirees or a comprehensive package? Erdoğan will make the decision
Preparations for a new regulation for retirees, whose purchasing power has declined due to inflation, have reportedly surfaced within AKP circles. While various formulas, ranging from increasing the lowest pension to a flat-rate raise, are on the table, it is stated that two different scenarios will be clarified following evaluations chaired by President Erdoğan.

While retirees are among the groups most affected by the rising cost of living, information regarding preparations for a new step has been shared from within AKP circles.
It is reported that retirees, who state that their preferences are changing in polls, are directly conveying the financial difficulties they face to officials they encounter in the field.
Reporting on the latest situation within AKP circles, Mervenur Kılıç stated that the most frequently mentioned issue in reports sent from provincial and district organizations to the party headquarters is the cost of living and the lowest pension amount.
It is stated that in evaluations made within the party, opinions have come to the fore that the rhetoric of "general improvement in the economy" is not finding a response in the field, especially among retirees.
It is mentioned that AKP staff are working on different options. The topics on the table include increasing the lowest pension again, implementing a flat-rate increase, additional regulations similar to a welfare share, and an increase in holiday bonuses.
The amount and implementation schedule of these steps have not yet been clarified. However, information is being shared in the corridors that the step to be taken will be a limited and controlled regulation.
THE DECISION WILL BE CLARIFIED UNDER ERDOĞAN'S LEADERSHIP
It is stated that two main scenarios are being discussed in AKP circles. The first possibility is to make an interim regulation for pensions in the spring months. The second possibility is to implement a more comprehensive package before the July raise.
