Millions of pensioners and civil servants, who have lost purchasing power due to high inflation, are eagerly awaiting their salary increases for 2026. Following the minimum wage, the economic management has finalized the increases to be applied to pensioners and civil servants.
Based on calculations made in December, the 5-month inflation adjustment for SSK and Bağ-Kur pensioners was determined to be 11.20 percent. This adjustment will be directly reflected in pension payments. As of 2026, the lowest pension is expected to rise to the 19 thousand TL level.
CIVIL SERVANT INCREASE RATES FINALIZED
The increase rate for civil servants will be determined by collective bargaining agreements and additional payment shares. With the regulation, the increase for civil servants is expected to be 17.57 percent. In addition to this, a 1,000 TL supplementary payment will also be reflected in salaries.
Regarding salary increases for pensioners and civil servants, the government plans to only include the inflation adjustment. Demands such as a welfare share were not accepted this year either. The economic management stated that, with the justification of "bringing inflation under control," only the inflation adjustment would be taken into account for salary increases.
Pensions will increase for SSK and Bağ-Kur pensioners along with the inflation adjustment. The lowest pension is expected to rise to 19 thousand TL. Furthermore, the inflation adjustment increase for SSK and Bağ-Kur pensioners' salaries is projected to be around 12.30 percent in January.
