The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) will share the December inflation figures with the public tomorrow at 10:00 AM. With the data to be announced, the inflation adjustment to be applied to the pensions of more than 16 million retirees will be officially determined.
According to the prevailing expectation in economic circles, December inflation is expected to be announced below 1 percent. In this case, it is projected that the 6-month inflation difference for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will be around 12.20 percent.
For civil servants and retired civil servants, the total raise rate is expected to exceed 18 percent with the addition of the increase stemming from the collective bargaining agreement.
RETIREE RAISE FINALIZED IN AKP CORRIDORS
Regarding the welfare share that millions of retirees are eagerly awaiting, noteworthy information is coming from the corridors. According to the report by Türkiye Gazetesi, the AKP has decided not to provide an additional welfare share increase to retirees this year, just as it did last year.
The inflation rate to be announced by TÜİK will be directly reflected in the base pensions of retirees in accordance with Social Security Institution (SGK) legislation.
LOWEST RETIREE PENSION ALSO INCLUDED IN THE RAISE
The increase for the lowest retiree pension, which was raised to 16,881 liras in July, will also be determined based on the inflation data to be announced.
Within the scope of the regulation expected to come to the Parliament's agenda in the second week of January, the raise rate to be applied to SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees will be applied to the lowest retiree pension in the same manner.
Following the regulation, the lowest retiree pension is expected to rise to approximately 18,950 liras.
