Second holiday bonus for retirees! Payment date has been set

Having received the first holiday bonus of the year at the beginning of 2025, retirees are now turning their eyes to the second holiday bonus payments. The second bonus payment, which will be made before Eid al-Adha, will be deposited into accounts in the first days of June with the increased amounts. This year, Eid al-Adha will be celebrated between June 6 and June 9.

WHEN WILL THE BONUSES BE DEPOSITED?

Due to Eid al-Adha falling between June 6 and June 9, the bonus payments to retirees are expected to be completed between June 2 and June 5.

Not only current retirees but also those who have applied for retirement will be able to benefit from the holiday bonus.

WHO WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE HOLIDAY BONUS?

According to the regulations, in order to benefit from the holiday bonus, the retirement pension must be granted in the month in which the holiday falls.

Pensions are granted in the month following the application. In this context, those who applied for retirement by the end of March benefited from the first bonus.

Those who apply in April and May will be entitled to the second bonus. In particular, those who apply within the month of May will be able to benefit from the Eid al-Adha bonus, as their pensions will have been granted as of June 1.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION

Those who wish to benefit from the bonus payment must apply for retirement by the end of May. Even if the application is completed on time but the pension granting process does not catch up to the payment date, those who have earned the right to retirement will be able to receive their bonuses once their pensions are granted. On the other hand, for those who apply after the end of May, bonus payments will begin in 2026.

INCREASED HOLIDAY BONUS AMOUNTS

With the law enacted this year, the holiday bonus amount has been increased. Accordingly, those receiving a retirement pension will receive a bonus of 4 thousand TL. The bonuses for those receiving a death benefit will vary according to the pension rate:

For those with a death benefit rate of 75 percent: 3 thousand TL

For those with a death benefit rate of 50 percent: 2 thousand TL

For those with a death benefit rate of 25 percent: 1 thousand TL

For beneficiaries receiving a pension from two different files, the bonus will be calculated based on the file with the highest payment. These amounts will also be valid for Eid al-Adha.

As retirees count the days to receive their increased bonuses before Eid al-Adha, it is important for citizens who are about to retire to apply before the end of May.

Thus, they will both be able to benefit from the increased bonus and provide financial support before the holiday.
