SGK has published the new list: Who can retire?

The SGK has published a new list containing the diseases valid for those applying for disability retirement. This list also includes the necessary conditions for individuals who wish to earn the right to early retirement.

Individuals experiencing certain health problems can receive an early retirement pension under the scope of disability retirement. According to the news in Ekonomim, the SGK has shared with the public the updates it has made to the list of diseases to be considered in this process.

The Social Security Institution (SGK) has announced a new list containing the diseases for which applications will be evaluated under the scope of disability retirement. This development has offered a new opportunity for insured individuals who cannot continue their working life due to health problems.

There are a few basic conditions specified by the SGK to be able to benefit from the right to disability retirement.

First of all, the insured person must have paid premiums for at least 10 years and must have completed a total of 1800 days of premium payments. In addition to this, there is a requirement that the existing illness must cause a loss of at least 60 percent in work capacity.

Citizens who meet all the conditions will be able to benefit from the right to disability retirement and retire early.

DISEASES COVERED UNDER DISABILITY RETIREMENT

The SGK has announced the list of diseases covered under disability retirement. The diseases in the updated list cover serious and chronic health problems. Furthermore, the main diseases considered under the scope of disability retirement as announced by the SGK are listed below.

Cancer, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, Behçet's disease, brain tumors, organ transplants (excluding bone marrow), tuberculosis, bipolar disorder, multiple sclerosis (MS), schizophrenia, intellectual disability, cirrhosis, dementia, vision loss, limb loss, and paralysis.

WHICH DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE APPLICATION?

Citizens who will apply under the scope of disability retirement must have the documents requested by the SGK. The documents include paperwork regarding working life, premium payment status, and documents related to medical reports.

The submitted documents are meticulously examined as a result of the procedures determined by the SGK.
