While the sharp price movements recently experienced in the markets are on the agenda of investors, Financial Analyst İslam Memiş made evaluations regarding the volatility in gold and silver.
"SHARP DECLINE OCCURRED WITH IRAN-US NEWS"
Stating that there was a notable decline in gold prices last week, Memiş said, "Last week, news of an agreement between America and Iran arrived. With this commotion, sharp declines occurred in gold and silver prices."
Reminding that there are 10 months left until the end of the year, Memiş expressed that similar fluctuations will continue during this period. "We will continue to see these fluctuations and this manipulation market every month until the end of the year," said Memiş, who also listed the factors affecting price movements.
Memiş said, "Both the limitation of Trump's powers, the escalation of geopolitical tension, and the fact that Chinese markets are reopening this week have caused a rise in gold and silver prices again."
Stating that the ounce gold price had dropped to 4,850 dollars, Memiş shared the information that "It is currently at the 5,135 dollar level."
Stating that a decline to 7,260 liras was seen in gram gold last week, Memiş expressed that the current level is 7,475 liras.
"LONG-TERM TREND IS IMPORTANT"
Expressing that the volatile course in gold makes investors uneasy, Memiş said that prices can experience sudden drops after peaking from time to time.
"We frequently tell investors that this year is a manipulation market and a year of manipulation. Focus on the long-term trend. The real story is in the long-term trend," said Memiş, emphasizing the importance of a strategic perspective.
YEAR-END TARGET ANNOUNCED
Sharing his expectation for the end of the year, Memiş said, "Our target for ounce gold by the end of the year is 6,000 dollars. For gram gold, 5-digit figures, meaning 10,000s, are expected by the first half of this year."
Warning short-term investors as well, Memiş said, "There is no problem for investors who focus on the long term. However, there is a serious risk for those who dream of buying and selling in the short term or those who engage in leveraged and credit-based transactions."
