Work is underway on state support for the retirement of housewives. For housewives included in the system under voluntary insurance, the state will also provide a contribution to premium payments that will last for at least 15 years.
According to a report by Önder Yılmaz in the Sabah newspaper, the project, which is being jointly carried out by the Ministries of Labor, Family, Treasury and Finance, and Health, will be initiated in October 2025.
Following the completion of the infrastructure for the implementation, the system is planned to go live in 2028.
THE STATE WILL COVER ONE-THIRD OF THE PREMIUMS
The state contribution is planned to be one-third of the premium to be paid. This support will be calculated based on the minimum wage. However, women who pay higher premiums will be able to receive higher retirement pensions accordingly.
Within the scope of the regulation, the following individuals are on the agenda to benefit from the system:
• Those without social security,
• Those not working in insured employment,
• Those who have reached the age of 18,
• Those not working in jobs that require mandatory insurance,
• Women who can document that they are exempt from income tax
