Survey results are in! What are citizens' expectations for the minimum wage hike?
The latest research conducted by Areda Survey has revealed the expectations of citizens in Turkey regarding the 2025 minimum wage increase. While a large portion of participants stated that a significant raise should be made to the minimum wage, differing views between men and women are noteworthy.

According to the research results, 40 percent of citizens expect a minimum wage increase between 25 percent and 50 percent.
Meanwhile, 35.6 percent of participants believe that a raise of 75 percent or more should be applied to the minimum wage.
Those who think that a raise between 51 percent and 74 percent should be applied to the minimum wage account for 17.8 percent of society.
The proportion of those who think a raise below 25 percent would be sufficient is reflected in the research as 6.6 percent.
WOMEN AND MEN THINK DIFFERENTLY
It is observed that the 2025 minimum wage hike expectations of the women and men participating in the research differ.
While 47 percent of women think that a raise of 75 percent or more should be made, 43.6 percent of men think that a raise between 25 percent and 50 percent should be made.
WHICH AGE GROUP HAS THE HIGHEST RAISE EXPECTATION?
Among those who think that the raise to the minimum wage should be 75 percent or more, participants aged 55 and over have the highest participation (43.8 percent).
They are followed by participants in the 35-54 age range (42.2 percent), while the majority of young people in the 18-34 age range (38.9 percent) expect a minimum wage increase of between 25 percent and 50 percent.
