The exact figure for the lowest pension! Expert reveals

As 2024 comes to an end, raises for pensions, civil servant salaries, and the minimum wage are on the agenda. Currently, the lowest pension is 12,500 liras.

SSK AND BAĞ-KUR PENSIONERS

Chief SGK Specialist and Türkiye newspaper columnist İsa Karakaş stated that the Central Bank's year-end inflation forecast of 44 percent will most likely not be met. Karakaş said the following:

"Year-end inflation could reach at least 45 percent. My projection for SSK and Bağ-Kur pensioners is that there will be a raise of at least around 16-17 percent.

CIVIL SERVANTS AND CIVIL SERVANT PENSIONERS

The situation for civil servants and civil servant pensioners is extremely dire. There is a grievance arising from the collective bargaining agreement. While a raise of around 16-17 percent is expected for SSK and Bağ-Kur pensioners, a raise of around 11-12 percent at most will be in question for civil servants and civil servant pensioners.

Civil servant pensioners will receive 5 percent less of a raise than SSK and Bağ-Kur pensioners. Thus, they will be crushed by inflation.

'WELFARE SHARE IS UNLIKELY, EQUALIZATION MAY OCCUR'

I do not think a welfare share will be granted at the end of this year. An equalization between civil servants and civil servant pensioners and SSK and Bağ-Kur pensioners may be in question. An equalization may be in question to address the resentment of civil servant pensioners.

HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST PENSION BE?

12,500 liras is a very low wage. Today, we all know that when you go to the market, the market expenses for 4 weeks are 4-5 thousand liras. I am only talking about market expenses. My expectation is that the lowest pension will be increased to 15,000 liras. 15,000 liras is the threshold figure. I do not think it will go above that.
