The countdown has begun for the Central Bank's Monetary Policy Committee meeting. The interest rate decision will be shared with the public following the meeting. WHEN WILL THE CENTRAL BANK INTEREST RATE DECISION BE ANNOUNCED?

The calendar for the January interest rate decision to be announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) Monetary Policy Committee has been set.

Accordingly, the Central Bank's interest rate decision will be announced on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 14:00.

MARKETS HAVE THEIR EYES ON THE TCMB'S ANNOUNCEMENT

The fight against rising inflation in recent times and changes in monetary policies are also affecting expectations regarding interest rates.

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS OF ECONOMISTS?

Economists predict that the policy rate will be cut by 250 basis points to 45 percent.

In the MPC meeting held last month, the policy rate was reduced by 250 basis points from 50 percent to 47.50 percent.

TCMB MPC 2025 MEETING CALENDAR

The TCMB MPC will not meet in February. The second meeting of the year will be held on March 6.

While the third meeting of the year will be held on April 17, there will be no meeting in May. The MPC will meet on June 19 and July 24.

There will be no meeting in August. After meetings are held on September 11 and October 23, there will be no meeting in November.

The final meeting of the year will be held on December 11, 2025.
