BOTAŞ has announced that there will be no changes to natural gas wholesale prices as of February 1, 2025. The price for 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas for residential subscribers has been set at 5,631 TL, while it has been announced as 8,549 TL for bread producers and 12,000 TL for gas used in electricity generation. Additionally, with the transition to a tiered billing system for electricity, some subscribers will experience significant increases in their bills.

The Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAŞ) announced that as of February, there has been no change in the sales tariff for natural gas used by residential and industrial subscribers, nor for gas used for electricity generation.
The sales price to be applied to distribution companies for residential consumers in February was announced as 5,631 Turkish Lira per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas.
The tariff for bread producers was set at 8,549 Turkish Lira per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas. For the electricity generation tariff, the price of 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas was announced as 12,000 Turkish Lira.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar responded to a question from journalists yesterday regarding a potential natural gas price hike. Minister Bayraktar had announced that there would be no price hikes for the first quarter of 2025.
ELECTRICITY BILLS WILL INCREASE
On the other hand, the transition to a tiered billing system for electricity has begun. As of February 1, subscribers with a monthly consumption of 471 kilowatt-hours will fall outside the subsidy, and the actual cost will be reflected in their bills, leading to a significant increase. In his statement yesterday, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar stated that 1.2 million out of 42 million subscribers would be affected by this situation.
When the 417 kilowatt-hour limit is exceeded, the bill will approximately double. For example, a residential subscriber who paid a 1,000 TL bill before the regulation will pay approximately 2,000 TL once the 417 kilowatt-hour limit is exceeded.
