Rising inflation and the economic crisis across Turkey are also hitting fuel prices. The ups and downs in fuel prices are being closely followed by citizens.
According to the information received, effective from midnight, there will be a price hike of 28 kuruş for gasoline and 26 kuruş for diesel.
As for LPG prices, it was announced yesterday that a reduction of 1 lira and 64 kuruş would be applied. These changes are stated to be linked to fluctuations in global oil prices and changes in exchange rates.
CURRENT FUEL PRICES
In Istanbul, the current price of gasoline is reflected as an average of 43.65 lira per liter, while diesel is 41.07 lira per liter. The price of autogas per liter has been set at 22.47 lira. The determined prices vary according to fuel types and provinces.
PRICE CALCULATION MECHANISM
In Turkey, when calculating fuel prices, the Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) and the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) share are added to the duty-free refinery prices, which then results in the refinery sales price excluding VAT.
These price updates emerged especially after recent changes in Brent crude oil prices and exchange rates. While the increase in Brent crude oil prices and the depreciation of the Turkish Lira cause an increase in fuel prices, the reduction in autogas provided some relief to citizens, albeit slightly.
