Online delivery company Getir is preparing to withdraw from the three European markets where it operates (the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands).
According to the report by Ekonomim citing Sky News, this move puts thousands of Getir employees, including 1,500 people in the UK, at risk of losing their jobs.
VALUATION REACHED 12 BILLION DOLLARS
Sources say that no final decision has been made, and that this process could involve the sale of assets or bankruptcy.
Just two years ago, Getir was valued at approximately 12 billion dollars and sought to acquire a number of competitors that were in financial distress.
The company has currently withdrawn from a number of countries, including Italy and Spain, in an effort to reduce its losses.
Getir is backed by prominent technology investors such as Sequoia Capital and Tiger Global, as well as Mubadala.
