Gold and foreign currency delight investors: The week's top-performing investment vehicles revealed
While stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul fell by an average of 0.74 percent on a weekly basis, the gram price of gold rose by 2.59 percent, the dollar/TL by 0.66 percent, and the euro/TL by 1.86 percent.

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul saw a weekly low of 9,756.73 points and a high of 9,983.21 points. However, it closed the week at 9,877.59 points, down 0.74% from the previous week's close.
In the Grand Bazaar, the gram price of 24-karat gold bullion rose by 2.59% this week to reach 3,407 liras. The Republic gold coin gained 2.57% in value, rising to 23,078 liras.
The selling price of the quarter gold coin, which was at the 5,563 lira level at the end of last week, increased by 2.64% this week to reach 5,710 liras.
In the foreign exchange market, the US dollar rose by 0.66% to 36.2170 liras, while the euro increased by 1.86% to 38.0150 liras.
Investment funds gained 0.77% on a weekly basis, while pension funds gained 0.61%. Looking at the categories, the group that gained the most among investment funds was "precious metals funds with 3.32%."
