Gold storm in the markets: Which investment vehicle gained the most this week?
While Borsa Istanbul finished the week flat, gold and the euro brought gains to investors. As gram gold approaches 4 thousand liras, the euro/TL gained more than 3 percent in value.

Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul finished the week with an average increase of 0.01 percent. On the foreign exchange and gold front, the rise was more pronounced.
The BIST 100 index moved between 9,050.56 and 9,581.24 points throughout the week and closed the week at 9,380.95 points, with a limited increase of 0.01 percent compared to its previous close.
In the Grand Bazaar, the gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold increased by 6.45 percent on a weekly basis to 3,960 liras. Republic gold also rose by 6.36 percent to 26,782 liras. The selling price of quarter gold reached 6,633 liras, an increase of 6.38 percent from last week's level of 6,235 liras.
Activity was also observed in the foreign exchange market. The US dollar rose by 0.12 percent to 38.0610 liras, while the euro increased by 3.31 percent to 43.2580 liras.
Investment funds finished the week with a loss of 0.34 percent, and pension funds with a loss of 0.37 percent. In the investment funds category, the highest return was provided by "money market" funds with 0.77 percent.
