The investment vehicle that disappointed investors the most this week was Borsa Istanbul. Stocks traded on the exchange lost 4.95 percent in value on a weekly basis. The BIST 100 index saw its lowest level of the week at 10,612.31 points and peaked at 11,334.42 points. However, it closed the week at 10,729.49 points, which remained 4.95 percent below the previous week's close.

INVESTMENT FUNDS ALSO CREATED DISAPPOINTMENT

Investment funds also failed to provide gains this week. Investment funds lost 0.3 percent in value, failing to satisfy their investors.

The dollar saw a slight increase this week, gaining 0.25 percent to rise to 41.2550 TL. However, those who preferred the euro were luckier. The Euro/TL exchange rate pleased investors with a 1.02 percent increase.

GOLD INVESTORS SMILE

Unlike the stock market and investment funds, gold investors saw gains this week. The selling price of a quarter gold coin, which was 7,600 TL last weekend, rose by 5.09 percent to 7,987 TL.

The price of the Republic gold coin also increased by 5.06 percent to 32,202 TL. The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold traded in the Grand Bazaar rose by 5.10 percent to 4,769 TL.
