It has been claimed that the government will change the pension system, adjust the retirement age, and provide social support to those who rely solely on their pension for their livelihood.

It has been suggested that the government is preparing to completely overhaul the frequently debated pension system.

According to a report by Besti Karalar from Ekonomim; the retirement age, currently 58 for women and 60 for men, will be raised to 60 for women and 65 for men. This decision will not affect the rights granted by the EYT (Retirement Age Victims) regulation.

TREASURY SUPPORT

Everyone will receive a pension based on the number of premium days they have paid.

Technically, since the base pension cannot be equalized to the minimum pension, a different formula will be applied instead of enacting legislation in this area every 6 months.

RETURN TO THE SOCIAL STATE CONCEPT

Social support will be provided to those receiving low pensions and those who rely solely on their pension for their livelihood. Assistance for travel, food, transportation, fuel, and rent will be provided.

The minimum pension will be set at a certain limit. The treasury will no longer provide support to the minimum pension. Support will be provided for household-based pensions. Rent assistance will be given in cash.

This package is expected to be addressed after the 2025 budget. A gradual transition process is also envisioned.
