The Owens case filed against Halkbank in the US has been dismissed.

In a statement made by Halkbank to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was noted that the legal processes regarding the second civil lawsuit (Hughes case) filed on July 26, 2023, and the criminal case dated October 15, 2019, are ongoing.

The statement read as follows:

"As is known, the first civil lawsuit (Owens case) filed against our Bank by a group of plaintiffs in the US on March 27, 2020, was dismissed on the grounds of forum non conveniens, first by the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (District Court) and subsequently by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit (Second Circuit Court of Appeals), and following this, an application was made by the plaintiffs to the US Supreme Court on August 30, 2023, to appeal the decision.

The US Supreme Court reviewed the appeal application on January 5, 2024, and published its decision on January 8, 2024, rejecting the plaintiffs' request. Accordingly, the Owens case filed against our Bank on March 27, 2020, has been definitively dismissed. We hope this decision will be beneficial to our Bank, our investors, our customers, and our employees.

On the other hand, the legal processes regarding the second civil lawsuit (Hughes case) filed on July 26, 2023, and the criminal case dated October 15, 2019, are continuing."
