US President Donald Trump took a significant step toward supporting the cryptocurrency market during a signing ceremony held at the White House.

In this context, Trump signed an executive order mandating the creation of a working group on cryptocurrencies.

According to the executive order, the group, dubbed the "Digital Asset Markets Working Group," will be tasked with developing a federal regulatory framework for digital assets and evaluating the establishment of a strategic national digital asset stockpile.

Furthermore, the order instructs agencies to provide recommendations to the working group regarding regulations that affect digital asset markets and should be repealed or amended.

On the other hand, the order prohibits agencies from developing or issuing a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).

During his election campaign, Trump had promised to make the US the "crypto capital of the planet and the Bitcoin superpower of the world."
