As Eid al-Adha approaches, the Meat and Milk Board (ESK) has increased the price of ground meat. The price per kilogram of ground meat at ESK stores has risen from 320 TL to 335 TL. In supermarkets that are members of the Retailers Association (PERDER), this price has increased from 410 TL to 430 TL.
The fact that the price hikes coincide with the period before the holiday has left citizens struggling with the cost of living in an even more difficult situation. While consumers are demanding that the price increase be re-evaluated, no official statement has yet been made by the ESK.
