At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 19.10 points and 0.24 percent compared to the previous close, reaching 8,063.12 points.
The banking index recorded an increase of 0.27 percent, and the holding index rose by 0.29 percent. Among sector indices, construction was the top gainer with 0.68 percent, while sports was the biggest decliner with 0.28 percent.
Yesterday, the BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul followed a buying-weighted trend and closed the day with a 0.72 percent gain at 8,044.02 points.
Analysts stated that global equity markets are following a negative trend due to ongoing uncertainties regarding the future steps of central banks and escalating tensions in the Middle East, adding that today's inflation data to be released in Germany, along with a busy data agenda, have become the focus of investors.
