While the stock market finished the week with a decline, the tension between Israel and Iran caused a rise in foreign exchange and gold.

Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul caused losses for investors this week. The BIST 100 index, after moving within the range of 9,065.17 and 9,733.62 points throughout the week, ended the week at 9,311.88 points, losing 1.84 percent in value compared to the previous week.
Gold, on the other hand, brought a smile to its investors. The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold in the Grand Bazaar rose by 4.22 percent to 4,350 liras. Republic gold showed a similar performance, finding buyers at 29,400 liras with an increase of 4.20 percent. Quarter gold, which was sold at 6,990 liras last week, rose by 4.29 percent this week to 7,290 liras.
Foreign exchange rates also followed an upward trend. The US dollar gained 0.56 percent in value, reaching 39.4380 liras. The Euro showed a higher increase, trading at 45.5370 liras with a rise of 1.94 percent.
A decline dominated the fund markets. Investment funds fell by 0.91 percent this week, while pension funds declined by 0.67 percent. However, the category that gained the most among all funds was "fund basket" funds with an increase of 1.36 percent.
