Huge price hike for Ramadan food parcels!
As the month of Ramadan approaches, citizens have begun their preparations. Ramadan food parcels sold in chain supermarkets have also taken their share of high inflation. The price of a Ramadan parcel containing 30 types of products, which was sold for 549.50 TL last year, has reached 899.90 TL this year.

Due to the AKP government's economic policy, high inflation, and the constantly rising exchange rate, the Turkish Lira continues to lose value.
As the country enters the month of Ramadan with 69.71% food inflation, Ramadan parcels containing basic food items have taken their place on supermarket shelves.
According to a report by Samiye Başçı from Sözcü, parcels that started at 229 TL last year and contained 11 items including one-kilogram packs of rice, bulgur, sunflower oil, and sugar, as well as pasta and tomato paste, have seen their prices rise by 21.77% to 279.95 TL this year.
In another chain supermarket, a parcel that was sold for 229.90 TL is now being sold for 299.90 TL, marking a 30% increase.
A more comprehensive parcel containing 20 different products, which was sold for 429.90 TL last year, has been offered for sale this year at 499 TL, representing a 16.3% increase. In another chain supermarket, the most comprehensive package, which was sold for 549.90 TL last year and included 30 types of products as well as beverages, has been offered for sale this year at a price of 899.90 TL, a 63.6% price increase.
In yet another supermarket, Ramadan packages with contents ranging between 13 and 24 varieties are on sale at prices ranging from 391.90 TL to 989.90 TL.
