Noting that more than half of public transportation in Istanbul is conducted via rubber-tired vehicles, Demet emphasized that the number of IETT passengers continues to increase despite investments in rail systems.
Reporting that IETT operates 55 thousand trips daily across 800 lines, Demet stated that they cover 477 million kilometers per year, facilitating a total of 1 billion 300 million journeys.
In the vote held following the speeches, the IETT 2024 fiscal year budget was approved with 161 votes in favor and 11 against.
