The 'import' formula instead of production: 20 TL reduction in meat prices

The government has found the solution to exorbitant meat prices in 'imported' livestock. Aydın Tüfekci, President of the Istanbul Retail Butchers Chamber, stated that meat prices have dropped by as much as 20 TL thanks to imported animals.

It has been noted that there is a 'decline' in meat prices, which low-income earners could previously only dream of.

Aydın Tüfekci, President of the Istanbul Retail Butchers Chamber, stated that with the slaughter of animals imported by the Meat and Milk Board (ESK), a decline in carcass meat prices has begun as of last week.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), Aydın Tüfekçi said, "Last week, there was a 15 lira drop per kilogram in carcass meat slaughter prices, and the decline continued this week, falling by another 20 lira. The drop in slaughter prices seen across Turkey varies by region. Currently, carcass slaughter prices in the country have fallen to an average of 360 lira per kilogram."
