In October, the highest natural gas imports were from Russia with 1 billion 985 million 990 thousand cubic meters

According to the "Natural Gas Market Sector Report" for October by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), approximately 2 billion 833 million 150 thousand cubic meters of imports were carried out via pipelines, while 525 million 90 thousand cubic meters were imported through liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities.

Thus, total natural gas imports increased by 3.7 percent during this period, reaching approximately 3 billion 358 million 230 thousand cubic meters.

In October, the highest volume of natural gas imports was from Russia with 1 billion 985 million 990 thousand cubic meters, followed by Azerbaijan with 718 million 910 thousand cubic meters and Algeria with 448 million 980 thousand cubic meters.

During this period, the amount of natural gas imported from Iran was 128 million 250 thousand cubic meters.

GAS CONSUMPTION IN RESIDENCES DECREASED BY 3 PERCENT

During the period in question, total natural gas consumption in the country increased by 7.9 percent, reaching approximately 3 billion 144 million 270 thousand cubic meters.

Natural gas consumption in the industrial sector was recorded as approximately 1 billion 157 million 160 thousand cubic meters, an increase of 8.1 percent. Natural gas consumption in power plants increased by 11.4 percent to 1 billion 148 million 100 thousand cubic meters.

Natural gas consumption in residences, on the other hand, decreased by 3 percent during this period to 409 million 70 thousand cubic meters.

NATURAL GAS STOCK LEVELS INCREASED

In October, the amount of natural gas stocks in Turkey rose by 41 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching approximately 5 billion 385 million cubic meters.

Approximately 5 billion 151 million cubic meters of the natural gas stock are held in underground storage facilities, while 234 million cubic meters are located in LNG terminals.
